Update #23 (September 11, 2020)

In Hospital

Linda has been in the hospital for over a week now.  The worst of her pain and anxiety have been dealt with and for that we are thankful.  But she is still suffering physically and of course mentally and emotionally.  She is being poked and prodded and sleeping / getting comfortable have been a challenge over the past week.  Knowing she is not going home has taken its toll on her.   Thankfully she only knows so much at this point and she comes and goes in consciousness and awareness.  As of yesterday, she wasn’t eating or drinking or talking very much.

Seeing this “shell” beside me that is not Linda is so sad.  Someone who was so full of life and service and joy and giving…we are struggling right now.  We pray that God will give us the strength, understanding and trust to be able to keep going.

The only part of Linda not suffering is her spiritual being.  In the past week, Linda has had only a few visitors (because of restrictions) and has spoken to loved ones on the phone.  Every conversation Linda ends with “See you in the Kingdom”.  May our gracious Father have mercy upon Linda and all of us in that day when His Son returns and His kingdom is set up.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if today I was woken up out of a sleep by the hand of an angel on my shoulder….to tell me that Jesus Christ had come back to earth and that new age of peace and healing and joy and perfection was going to begin??

**I wrote this in the very early hours of the morning. Then in the early afternoon I sent this message:

“Her suffering is over.  She is at rest.  She has fought a good fight, she has finished her course, she has kept the faith.  She breathed her last at 12:15pm.  She was very peaceful.  Now she awaits the day of resurrection, when Jesus comes, which must be soon.  Her Dad and Mum were with her.  I had slipped home to be with the boys.”
