Update #2 (August 27, 2019)

There isn’t too much to update everyone on.  We are still waiting for appointments and tests.  I had a double scope last Friday and nothing unusual was found with those, which is a good thing.  We are so thankful to have an appointment at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto later this week.  It is one of the top cancer centres in Canada.  We asked to get a second opinion from this centre and our family doctor was happy to send a referral for us.  It can be quite difficult to get into these large centres, especially when I am already under the care of another cancer centre closer to home.  But with the help of two sisters (friends from church) who had connections with people at the hospital, we were able to get an appointment … and quickly too.  Such a blessing and an answer to prayer.

Weekend Away

A few close friends insisted Dan and I go away a few weekends ago … to try and relax a bit, have time together to pray and chat.  I didn’t want to go at first but was very glad that we did!  We had a lovely weekend together in Tobermory.  All we needed to do was pack our own bags … everything was taken care of, right down to a cooler of food prepared and ready to eat!  Thank you to those who contributed to the weekend … and thanks to those who “made” me go!

Visitors from Australia

My parents arrived from Australia last week.  They had quite the adventure getting here, but they made it safely.  It is very nice to have them around.  Our boys are enjoying having two sets of grandparents to do things with.  Their 9½ weeks of summer holidays are almost over.

A Big Thank You

We have been so overwhelmed by the support shown through everyone’s prayers, emails, cards, messages, flowers, meals, the GoFundMe … and in many other ways as well.  We are truly thankful to be surrounded by such special friends, family, brothers and sisters in Christ, and neighbours. Thank you everyone.

when my heart is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
